Green Pea Pulau
- 2 Tbsp. Oil
- 2 Inch Cinnamon stick
- 5-6 Cloves
- 2 Onions finely sliced
- 2 1/2 Cups Basmati or long grain rice
- 1 lb. Green peas
- 3 1/2 oz. Creamed coconut
- 1 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 8 Cardamom pods
- Pinch Nutmeg
Toast cinnamon and clove in heated oil.
Add onions and fry on low heat until golden. Remove half of onions to garnish later. Add rice and stir well until well coated.
Add peas and mx well.
Bring 4 cups of water to boil with creamed coconut cut in pieces, stir over low heat until dissolved.
Pour over rice mixture, add salt and nutmeg.
Stir well and cook covered, over very low heat for 20 minutes, till rice is done and adding a bit of water if it becomes too dry and rice is sticking on the bottom.
Serve garnished with fried onions.
