Mattar Paneer - Peas and Cheese Curry
- 1 Onion chopped
- 2 Tbls. Butter
- 1 Garlic clove chopped
- 1 tsp. Turmeric
- 1/2 tsp. Ground coriander
- 1/4 tsp. Chili powder
- 1 inch Fresh ginger grated
- 2 Tomatoes peeled and chopped
- 1 lb. Fresh or frozen peas
- 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. Cardamom
- 1/2 lb. Mozzarella or soft white cheese
Fry onion in butter until golden. Add garlic and stir well. Stir in turmeric, coriander, chili, and ginger and cook for a few minutes. Add tomatoes and peas and cover with 1 cup of water.
Add cinnamon, cardamom, salt and pepper and simmer for 5-10 minutes or until peas are tender. Add cheese and cook for 5-8 minutes or until cheese is soft.
