An everyday rice dish that goes well with any protein.
Roz bil Shaghria - Rice with Vermicelli
- 1/2 Cup Vermicelli broken into 1 inch pieces
- 2 Tbls. Oil
- 1 1/4 Cups Long grain rice
- 3 Cups Water
- 1 tsp. Salt
Toast vermicelli until slightly brown. Watch carefully as it browns quick.
Heat oil and toast rice until well coated. Pour water, add toasted vermicelli, a touch of salt, and stir well.
Simmer covered for 15-18 minutes or until rice is tender and water is absorbed. Remove from heat and steam with lid on for another 5 minutes.
