Dates STuffed with Almond Paste
- 12 Dates with a slit in the middle of each one
- 5 1/3 Cups Almonds ground
- 2 Cups Sugar
- 1 Cup Water
- 1/2 Lemon juiced
- 2-3 Drops Almond extract
Boil sugar and water with lemon juice for 5-10 minutes, until syrup is thick.
Add ground almonds and almond extract and stir well on low heat for 2-3 minutes until paste no longer sticks.
Take small lumps of paste and press into each opening of dates so that the almond paste is a little visable.
