Braised Veal with Turmeric and Lemon
- 2 lbs. Shin or forknuckle of veal cut in large pieces
- 3 Tbsp. Oil
- 1/2 tsp. Furmeric
- 1 Onion cut in half
- 1 lb. Potatoes cut in small cubes
- 1/2 Lemon juiced
- Salt and pepper
Season veal and brown on all sides in oil. Add turmeric and cover half cover with water.
Add onions and simmer very slowly for 1.5 hours, turning meat every so often, adding water if reduced too much.
Add potatoes and more water to cover and simmer for another 25 minutes Add lemon juice before serving..
