  1. Bring 7 1/2 cups of water to boil and season with salt. Place meat and bones in pot. Remove scum.
  2. Add spices and simmer for 2 hours or until meat is tender. Add vegetables and cook for 30 minutes or until tender.
  3. Extract bones and scrape marrow into soup.
