Talk about ugly delicious – heartwarming with a deep musty flavor.
Krpnik - Mushroom and Barley Soup
- 1 - 1/12 oz. Dried cepes
- 13 Cups Stock or water
- 2 Carrots
- 2 Turnips
- 2 Onions
- 2 Potatoes
- 2 Celery stalks and leaves
- 3/4 Cup Pearl Barley
Soak cepes in water for 15 minutes or until soft.
Chop vegetables and cepes. Put all vegetables, cepes, fluid that the cepes were soaking in, and barely into a pot.
Bring to a boil and remove scum. Season HEAVILY with salt and pepper.
Simmer for 60 minutes or until barley is very soft and bloated.
